"DOUBLE FIRST" FOR FORRES

Forres recorded a Handicap League "double first". They became the first club to win at Nairn Dunbar in the 10 years of the event and as a result took their first ever Handicap League Trophy following that 6 ½- 1 ½ win. What made their success all the more impressive was everyone contributed with five victories and three halves in the eight games played.

Elgin also finished on eight points but lost out on a count-back of games won, the third time the title has been decided in this way. For Forres it has been a long wait as they were the team to lose out on a count-back to Nairn in the first ever Handicap League competition in 1996.

To further emphasis the competitiveness of the League as it moves into its second decade, this is the fourth different club to win in the past four years.
